In 58 games last season, Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry had a 34-18-6 record.

The Penguins are scheduled to start goaltender Tristan Jarry in Saturday’s home contest against the Tampa Bay Lightning at PPG Paints Arena.

Jarry was in net for the Penguins’ season-opener Thursday, a 6-2 home win against the Arizona Coyotes. He made 26 saves on 28 shots in that victory.

In seven career games against the Lightning, Jarry has a 3-2-0 record, a 2.22 goals against average and a .932 save percentage.

Notes:

• Forward Teddy Blueger participated in an optional skate Saturday morning. He wore a regular jersey — as opposed to a non-contact jersey — for the first time since suffering an undisclosed injury during a Sept. 28 practice in Cranberry.

Despite that progress, Blueger remains sidelined and will not play in Saturday’s game. His status remains “day to day,” according to coach Mike Sullivan.

In addition to Blueger, those who participated in the morning skate included forwards Jeff Carter and Ryan Poehling; defensemen P.O Joseph, Jeff Petry, Marcus Pettersson and Chad Ruhwedel; and goaltender Casey DeSmith.

• The Lightning did not stage a morning skate after traveling overnight following a 5-2 road win against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday.

• Lightning backup goaltender Brian Elliott is expected to make his first start of the season. Last season, elliott appeared in 19 games and had an 11-4-2 record along with a 2.43 goals against average, a .912 save percentage and one shutout.

In 10 career games against the Penguins, Elliott has a 10-6-3 record, a 3.25 goals against average, a .901 save percentage and two shutouts.

• The Penguins will recognize former head equipment manager Dana Heinze before Saturday’s game. A native of Johnstown, Heinze retired this past summer after a 33-year career as an equipment staffer. Heinze was a member of the Penguins’ Stanley Cup championship teams in 2009, 2016 and 2017. He also won a Stanley Cup title with the Lightning in 2004.

• Former Penguins defenseman Ian Cole remains suspended with pay by the Lightning as the NHL investigates allegations of sexual assault by Cole. The team suspended Cole on Sunday after allegations became public Oct. 7 with a posting on Twitter. Cole has not been charged.
