INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 41-34) defeated Louisville (Reds), 8-3. The Indians took a commanding, early lead with five first-inning runs. RHP Eduardo Vera (4-5, 5.66) went seven innings, allowing two runs on four hits, five strikeouts and a walk. Seven Indians recorded at least one RBI. 2B Darnell Sweeney (.308) drove in two runs and scored once. 3B Kevin Kramer (.279) went 3 for 4 with an RBI and two runs. CF J.B. Shuck (.330) also was 3 for 4 with an RBI and a run. SS Cole Tucker (.322) finished 4 for 5 with two doubles and a run. RHP Dovydas Neverauskas (1-1, 2.31) recorded his sixth save this season.

Next: Wednesday vs. Columbus (Indians), 7:05 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 39-34) won 5-1 over Richmond (Giants). RHP James Marvel (8-5, 3.21) earned the victory after striking out eight batters, walking one and allowing a run on four hits in seven innings. RF Bligh Madris (.260) and SS Robbie Glendinning (.321) had two hits and two RBIs. Glendinning also doubled and scored a run. 3B Alfredo Reyes (.180) was 3 for 5 with two doubles and a run scored. Next: Wednesday at Richmond, 6:35 p.m.

BRADENTON (High-A, 39-35) were shut out by Jupiter (Marlins), 3-0. The Marauders were held hitless until the top of the eighth inning on a single from 2B Rodolfo Castro (.235) and were outhit, 17-1. RHP Aaron Shortridge (3-3, 3.86) went 4 1/3 innings with a run allowed on 11 hits. Next: Wednesday at Jupiter, 6:30 p.m.

GREENSBORO (Low-A, 46-29) lost 12-6 to West Virginia (Mariners). RF Jack Herman (.231), 1B Mason Martin (.257) and DH Michael Gretler (.229) each homered with Gretler hitting a two-run shot in the seventh inning. Martin finished with two hits, two RBIs and two runs in four at-bats, and Herman was 1 for 2 with two runs, an RBI and two walks. RHP Luis Nova (1-2, 4.91) went 4 1/3 innings in the loss with six earned runs allowed on 11 hits and two strikeouts. Next: Wednesday vs. West Virginia, noon

WEST VIRGINIA (Short season-A, 6-5) lost to Batavia (Marlins), 7-3. The Black Bears were held scoreless until the top of the sixth inning, scoring two runs after trailing 5-0. RF Brett Kinneman (.188) stole home to cut the deficit to 5-2. SS Cory Wood (.263) went 2 for 4 with a double, a RBI and a run scored. RHP Will Kobos (0-2, 11.37) recorded the loss after allowing four runs on six hits, three strikeouts, and a walk in four innings. Next: Wednesday at Batavia, 7:05 p.m.
