Members of the PNC Park grounds crew scramble to cover the field during a rain delay in the second inning of the Pirates’ home opener against the Brewers on Monday, July 27, 2020, at PNC Park.

The Pittsburgh Pirates postponed Friday’s game against the Washington Nationals due to impending inclement weather and will make it up as part of a split doubleheader on Saturday at PNC Park.

Pirates right-hander Luis Ortiz will face Nationals lefty DJ Herz in the first game of the doubleheader, which will start at 1:35 p.m. Saturday, with Pirates righty Mitch Keller facing National lefty Mitchell Parker in the second game scheduled for 6:40 p.m.

It marks the first Pirates game postponed at PNC Park this season. Tickets that were purchased for Friday’s game will be valid for the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader, or can be exchanged for a future 2024 home game by visiting pirates.com/raincheck.
