A pair of Pittsburgh Pirates prospects — Double-A Altoona catcher Henry Davis and Triple-A Indianapolis right-handed pitcher Mike Burrows — have been selected to the National League roster for the All-Star Futures Game on July 16 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

Davis, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft, is ranked the Pirates’ top prospect and No. 19 prospect overall by MLB Pipeline and the No. 31 prospect by Baseball America. Burrows is ranked the Pirates’ No. 10 prospect by both Baseball America and MLB Pipeline.

The 22-year-old Davis began the season at High-A Greensboro, where he slashed .341/.450/.585 with three doubles, a triple, five home runs and 22 RBIs in 22 games before being promoted to Altoona on May 10. Davis will be the first catcher to represent the Pirates at the Futures Game since Elias Diaz in 2015.

Burrows, 22, started the season with Altoona before being promoted to Indianapolis on June 16. He gave up two earned runs or fewer in nine of his 12 starts and ranked sixth among all Eastern League pitchers in ERA (2.94) and batting average against (.199) and seventh in strikeouts (69) before his promotion.

An 11th-round pick in 2018, Burrows is 8-8 with a 3.06 ERA, 199 strikeouts and a .205 batting average against in 43 appearances. He ranks first among all Pirates full-season minor leaguers in ERA (3.52) and WHIP (1.14), and second in strikeouts (81) and batting average against (.221).
