Wil Crowe will be on the mound Friday when the Pittsburgh Pirates open Grapefruit League play against the New York Yankees at 1:05 p.m. at LECOM Park.

Pirates manager Derek Shelton said right-handers Crowe, Jerad Eickhoff and Kyle Nicolas will pitch early for the Pirates, with others in relief, and that starting position players might be limited to two or three innings instead of the typical five innings because of the shortened spring training delayed by the lockout.

Right-hander Mitch Keller is expected to start against the Detroit Tigers at 1:05 p.m. Saturday at LECOM Park.
