Livvy Dunne celebrates Paul Skenes’ seventh strikeout to end the top of the fourth inning against the Cubs on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at PNC Park.

The Pirates blew a 7-run lead to the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday. Livvy Dunne noticed.

Dunne’s boyfriend, rookie pitcher Paul Skenes, started the game and left after five innings with a comfortable 10-3 lead. Not so fast.

The Pirates’ bullpen collapsed and gave up 11 runs. Six of those runs came in the top of the ninth inning. Chicago went on to win 14-10.

Dunne, a gymnast at LSU, was not happy. She posted a GIF on the X social media platform of Skenes saying, “You gotta be kidding me.”

Some of the reactions to the post, summed up the tortured life of a Pittsburgh Pirates fan.

“It’s taken approximately four months but she’s now officially one of us,” wrote one person in a reaction.
