Ryan Shazier happy to show teammate Devin Bush the ropes in the NFL
In his first NFL action, Steelers linebacker Devin Bush collected 10 tackles in the first half of the team’s opening exhibition game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

But when teammate Ryan Shazier offers advice, the 10th overall pick in the draft must be all ears.

Shazier, who has missed playing time because of a serious spinal injury suffered against the Bengals in 2017, has worked with the rookie from Michigan during summer camp.
“A lot of times he might ask me some questions when things might go on in meetings. Sometimes we might watch film together,” Shazier said Wednesday on NFL Total Access. “I had some great leaders when I played and I’m just truly thankful for the player I am because of the insight they gave me. So sometimes I give him some insight. I don’t know if he’s listening to it or not, but I just kinda try to give him the insight I wish someone would’ve gave me.”
Bush recently told Yahoo Sports that Shazier has been a constant influence on him and made sure he was ready for the rigors of his first season.
“I think Devin’s going to have a great year,” Shazier said. “He’s been showing amazing progress every day while he’s been in camp.”
