Seton Hill was off to a good start to the 2020 baseball season.
The Griffins returned home from their Florida trip with a 9-4 record and were set to open the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference season. Then the coronavirus hit the country and the NCAA shut everything down.
Things are starting to open up a year later, and the Griffins are hard at work for the start of the 2021 season.
The PSAC released its preseason poll Tuesday, and Seton Hill and Mercyhurst were tied for first as each received four first-place votes in the West Division. California was picked third followed by Gannon, Slippery Rock, Pitt-Johnstown, Indiana and Clarion.
Millersville was chosen as the preseason favorite in the PSAC East for the sixth time in the last seven years after receiving seven first-place votes.
Seton Hill is hoping to open the season at home March 5 against an opponent to be determined. None of the PSAC teams are scheduled for overnight trips in the south.
Cal U was limited to 12 games (6-6) last year before the remainder of the season was canceled.
Cal U is scheduled to start the season with a three-game series against Wheeling from Feb. 26-28 at Wild Things Park in Washington.
IUP has not released its schedule.
