In a rather unassuming Friday afternoon baseball game in Greensburg, Seton Hill senior Derek Orndorff made some magic in right center field.

And the nation got to catch a glimpse of it.

Orndorff made a spectacular running catch in the top of the second inning in the undefeated Griffins’ game against IUP.

The play made No. 4 on ESPN SportsCenter’s Top 10 Plays Friday night.

Orndorff fully extended to make the diving play, then recovered to make a quick relay throw to the infield to nearly double up the Crimson Hawks.

Orndorff did more than take away a gap shot to dampen IUP’s afternoon. He hit two home runs in the 12-0 win.

Seton Hill moved to 10-0, including a 9-0 mark at home.

A Connellsville graduate, Orndorff came to Seton Hill from Penn State, where he began his college career. He is hitting. 469 (14 for 29) with a team-leading six home runs and 15 RBIs, and is tied with grad student Tommy Pellis (Greensburg Central Catholic) with 15 runs.
