Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt sacks Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts in the second quarter Sunday.

The Pittsburgh Steelers got positive news on the injury front about All-Pro outside linebacker T.J. Watt, but that was balanced by negative news regarding wide receiver George Pickens.

Watt, who injured his left ankle in the fourth quarter Sunday in the 27-14 loss at the Philadelphia Eagles, was a full participant in practice Thursday and sounded optimistic about his chances of playing Saturday at the Baltimore Ravens. His absence from the status report gives the appearance of a green light to play.

“I felt pretty good this week,” Watt said after practice. “Obviously, it’s a short week but I felt pretty good.”

Pickens (hamstring) again was listed as a non-participant in practice by the Steelers and is out for Saturday’s game at the Baltimore Ravens.

It marks the Steelers’ third consecutive game without Pickens, who leads the team in targets (90), receptions (55) and receiving yards (850) this season. The Steelers also will be without quarterback Justin Fields (abdominal), making Kyle Allen the backup in Baltimore.

Limited participants included three defensive starters: Strong safety DeShon Elliott (hamstring) is listed as doubtful, while cornerback Donte Jackson (back) and defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi (groin) were both listed as questionable.

Watt, who leads the NFL in tackles for loss (18) and forced fumbles (six) and is tied for third in sacks (11 ½), hopes that he won’t be limited by a snap count at Baltimore.

“I’m trying to be out there as much as I possibly can,” Watt said. “I wouldn’t want to do that but if that’s the only thing I can do then I’m going to take what I can get.”
