Every Monday, the Tribune-Review will highlight 10 top area college performances from the weekend:

1. Saint Vincent senior breaks HR record

First baseman Bobby Finn (Peters Township) homered twice in a doubleheader sweep of Geneva on Saturday, becoming the school’s all-time leader with 20. He hit his 10th homer of the year in Game 2, which tied the school’s single-season record. Also in the second game, freshman Casey Jones (South Side Beaver) struck out 13 — tying the school record for a seven-inning game — in a 9-0 victory. Jones improved to 6-0 this season for the Bearcats (14-9, 7-4 PAC).

2. W&J baseball extends winning streak to 14

Dante Dalesandro (Mt. Lebanon) had three RBIs, and Ben Marsico (North Allegheny) threw five scoreless innings in relief as the Presidents topped Westminster, 8-3, in a PAC game Sunday. Washington & Jefferson (17-7, 12-0) has outscored its conference opponents 132-40 this season.

3. O’Keefe ties goals record for No. 1 Penn State lacrosse

Mac O’Keefe scored three goals — equaling Will Driscoll’s all-time school record with 127 — to lead the Nittany Lions past No. 7 Ohio State, 13-8, in a Big Ten game Sunday. Cole Willard also had three goals for Penn State (9-1, 2-0).

4. Goals keep coming RMU sophomore lacrosse player

Corson Kealey scored six goals to lead the Colonials past Wagner, 17-6, on Saturday. Kealey upped his season total to 31 goals and leads the Northeast Conference with 3.10 goals per game.

5. Seton Hill men’s lacrosse nips Mercyhurst

Max Eismann made a career-best 20 saves, lifting the 12th-ranked Griffins past 11th-ranked Mercyhurst, 13-11, on Saturday. Bennett Johnson scored four goals for Seton Hill (7-3, 2-0 Great Midwest Athletic Conference). The Lakers dropped to 7-3, 3-1.

6. Point Park baseball dominates in sweep

The Pioneers defeated Brescia (Ky.), 17-2 and 10-1, on Saturday in a River States Conference doubleheader. In the first game, Cole Horew (Chartiers Valley) had five RBIs, and Emille Morillo hit a three-run homer. In Game 2, Marco Quintanar struck out nine and allowed no earned runs in a four-hitter, and Ed Pfluger hit a two-run homer. Point Park (18-13, 11-7) has won seven of its past eight games.

7. CMU women’s tennis rolls in matchup of ranked teams

Freshman Danna Taylor won at first singles and first doubles, leading the No. 10 Tartans past No. 24 Christopher Newport, 9-1, on Sunday. CMU improved to 13-6.

8. Cal (Pa.) pitcher throws 3rd straight complete game

Nick Riggle (Keystone Oaks) allowed four hits and struck out four in the Vulcans’ 4-2 victory over Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday. Cal completed the PSAC sweep with an 8-4 win in Game 2. Riggle (4-1, 1.35 ERA) has allowed just four earned runs and 11 hits in his past 21 innings. The Vulcans improved to 20-7, 7-3, and the Mountain Cats slipped to 16-12, 4-6.

9. Waynesburg baseball earns walk-off win

Tyler Godwin drove in the winning run, capping a late rally in a 3-2 victory over Chatham in a PAC game Saturday. The Yellowjackets (14-12, 8-4) trailed 2-0 entering the eighth inning before tying it on RBI singles by Brandon Durbin and Jordan Kowalski (Knoch). Waynesburg is in second place in the league behind Washington & Jefferson (12-0 PAC). Chatham dropped to 3-18, 0-9.

10. Grove City golf wins Thiel Invitational

All five of the Wolverines golfers finished in the top 10 as Grove City took the team title Saturday at the nine-school event in Sharon. The Wolverines’ team score of 304 was five shots better than Saint Vincent and Cal (Pa.). Grove City’s Cole McCook finished third with a 74. Cal’s Mike Chahoy earned medalist honors with a 71.
