The Pitt-Greensburg women’s soccer team continues to display offensive firepower — and keeps rolling along.
Freshman Ashley Lucas netted two goals and junior Allie Grimm, sophomore Tiffany Michalek, and sophomore McKenzie Huntebrinker each scored one as the Bobcats blanked Hilbert, 5-0, to remain unbeaten at 9-0 (2-0 AMCC).
The Bobcats outshot Hilbert, 35-2.
Sophomore keeper Lauren Yoder picked up her sixth shutout and ninth win in net.
In the previous game, the Bobcats fell behind to Waynesburg, 1-0, but scored three unanswered goals for a 3-1 win.
UPG is ranked No. 8 in the United Soccer Coaches Association Great Lakes Region poll.

Slippery Rock: A pair of former high school teammates have helped the Rock to a 7-1 start (6-0 PSAC). Sophomore defenders Emily Arnold and Katy Ericson (Norwin) each have come off the bench for SRU, which has won seven games in a row. Ericson had an assist in a 3-1 win over IUP.

IUP: Senior linebacker Nick Amendola (Norwin) tied a team-high with six tackles and added a sack and an interception in the Crimson Hawks’ 56-24 win over Mercyhurst. No. 21 IUP (4-0) piled up 528 yards and scored 35 unanswered points.
Mercyhurst: Sophomore fullback Jason Armstrong (Latrobe) caught an 11-yard touchdown pass for the Lakers (2-2) in a 56-24 loss to No. 21 IUP. Freshman Dustin Shoaf (Yough) had two catches for 26 yards for Mercyhurst. Armstrong was coming off a two-touchdown game against Bloomsburg. He caught scores of 11 and 4 yards in a 36-24 win. For the season, Armstrong has six catches for 53 yards and the three scores.

Men’s soccer
Cal U: Freshman Jake Nebinski (Norwin) scored his first college goal and chipped in an assist to help lead the Vulcans to a 5-1 victory over Daemen (N.Y.).
Penn State Behrend: Senior Andrew Mastovich (Franklin Regional) scored a goal, his second in as many games and the eighth of his college career, as the No. 16th-ranked Lions defeated Geneva, 2-0. Mastovich netted the game-winner in overtime for the Lions in a 2-1 victory over No. 14 Mt. Union. He was named the AMCC Offensive Player of the Week.

Pitt-Greensburg: Sophomore Turner Price (Penn-Trafford) improved to 4-0 at No. 1 singles as UPG defeated Pitt-Bradford, 8-1. Senior teammate Vaughn Hunkele was named AMCC Player of the Week. He won singles and doubles matches against Westminster and Pitt-Bradford.

Women’s golf
Penn State: Junior Olivia Zambruno (Greensburg Central Catholic) finished tied for 22nd at 8-over-par 224 at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational in Lexington, Ky. Zambruno moved up seven spots with a 1-over 73 in the final round.
Saint Vincent: The Bearcats carded their second straight runner-up finish, taking second behind Seton Hill at the Saint Vincent College Invitational. Junior Sydney Ball led SVC with an 81. Junior Emily Doell shot 88 to lead Seton Hill.
