Mackenzie Powell made her first college goal count.

The freshman at Westminster, who played at Penn-Trafford, scored with just eight seconds remaining to lift the Titans to a 1-0 victory over Oberlin.

Her big performance earned her the PAC Rookie of the Week.

Powell has played in seven games, with six starts, and had two shots on goal.

Duquesne: Junior Hannah Nguyen (Penn-Trafford) delivered the Dukes a goal from 35 yards away in a 3-1 upset of Saint Louis. Junior Lexy Kendro (Norwin) had an assist in the victory.

Pitt-Greensburg: Three Bobcats players were selected to the AMCC 25th anniversary team: Ashley Lucas, Lauren Yoder and Melissa Wiggins.

Lucas and Yoder are current players. Wiggins was a conference player of the year in 2002.

Lucas won the same award in ‘19, along with newcomer of the year, while Lucas was the top defensive player that season.

UPG had its seven-game winning streak stopped over the weekend in a 1-0 loss to Penn State Behrend. The team had not been shut out since the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2019 when Chicago won, 5-0.

Saint Vincent: The Bearcats made it back-to-back wins as they edged past Muskingum, 3-2. Junior Kylie Albertson, senior Hannah Irvine and sophomore Tanisha Grewal all scored, with Irvine’s goal coming in the 78th minute.

Grewal has a team-high nine goals.

Seton Hill: Sophomore Madison Carr scored the lone goal as the Griffins outlasted Mercyhurst, 1-0, in a PSAC game. Sophomore Leah Policarpio had the assist for Seton Hill (3-2, 2-2), which broke a two-game losing streak.

Men’s soccer

Grove City: Freshman defender Luke Kimmich (Franklin Regional) assisted on a goal as the Wolverines rallied past Juniata for a 2-1 overtime victory.

Pitt-Greensburg: Former UPG standout Adam Zeleznick was named to the AMCC All-anniversary team

Zeleznick was named newcomer and player of the year in the conference in 2002, when the Bobcats finished 19-2 and won the AMCC.

That season, he led the conference in scoring with 19 goals, seven assists and 45 points.

He added another player of the year award in ‘04 as a junior when he again led the AMCC in in points (44), tallying 20 goals and four assists.

Football

Allegheny: Sophomore running back Kyrie Miller (Ligonier Valley) ran for a career-high 93 yards on 14 carries in a 28-19 loss to Ohio Wesleyan.

IUP: Redshirt sophomore Cam Suman (Penn-Trafford) had a busy afternoon as the Crimson Hawks spoiled Mercyhurst’s homecoming game. Suman blocked a punt and returned it 8 yards for a touchdown, caught a 7-yard scoring pass and also forced a fumble in a 48-13 victory in PSAC.

John Carroll: Senior defensive back Nate Leopold (Franklin Regional) grabbed his first interception of the season — the fourth of his career — but the Blue Streaks, ranked No. 21 in Division III, lost to No. 3 Mount Union, 28-14.

Saint Francis (Pa.): Redshirt sophomore quarterback Justin Sliwoski (Hempfield) went 5 of 8 for 96 yards and a touchdown in a 28-16 loss to Norfolk State.
