Forecasters predicting a hot and rainy Fourth of July
According to the National Weather Service, the flashes of light in the sky this Fourth of July are just as likely to be lightning as they are to be fireworks.
As sustained hot weather continues, forecasters are predicting a 40% to 70% chance of daily and evening thunderstorms through Saturday night. That forecast also includes a hazardous weather outlook, with isolated severe thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening hours that have the potential for damaging wind and flash flooding.
Temperatures may dip, but just a little, from Tuesday’s afternoon high of 89 degrees. The forecast calls for temperatures hovering around a high of 86 degrees Wednesday through Friday, with Saturday easing just a bit to 84 degrees.
